Columbia County road back open after gas line hit

MARTINEZ, Ga. (WRDW) -- A gas line has been hit by construction workers on Old Petersburg Road and McCormick Road in Martinez.

A small section of Old Petersburg Road at McCormick Road is now back open after being temporarily closed due to a natural gas leak, dispatch said. Crew members from the Riverwatch Extension widening project hit the line just before 11 a.m. on Thursday.

No one was evacuated during the leak.
