AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A graphic video of a fight at the Augusta Mall over the weekend has been circulating around the Internet. Mall workers and shoppers are now saying they are concerned because this is not an isolated incident.
Marques Brooks goes to the mall a lot, and he said, "I took a look at the video, and I was like, oh man! This is serious stuff. So I reposted it on Facebook and everyone was like oh, my!"
But this isn't the first fight at the mall. Brooks showed us video of a fight he witnessed back in 2011 at the food court.
"They caused like property damage to one of the shops in the food court. It was really crazy," he said.
But Brooks says the video from the most recent fight was even more shocking.
The video has raised many questions about safety at the mall.
"It's very unsafe and there should be more security at the Augusta Mall. I've never seen security there," said Brittany Thomas, who saw the video.
We contacted management who released this statement:
"The safety and security of our shoppers are always our top priority. We have a customized public safety program that entails multiple measures, including a great relationship with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department and a trained security team. We cannot discuss the specifics of our public safety program because by doing so would compromise our efforts."
But, some say they need more security on the weekends.
"Friday night to Saturday night, that's when it gets the worst. Any other time of the week, it's pretty solid," Brooks said.
The Sheriff's Office says they will not pursue this case unless a victim comes forward.
