GBI investigating possible embezzlement at Lincolnton church

LINCOLN COUNTY, Ga. -- Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Mike Ayers has confirmed the agency is looking into a possible embezzlement at a church in Lincoln County.
The Double Branches Baptist Church reported over $128,000 in missing money to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. The case was then turned over to the GBI.
A forensic audit of bank accounts has just been completed as agents continue their investigation.
