GBI: No evidence law was broken with Fred Russell's hard drive

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW)-The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said it has closed its investigation into what was deleted from former City Administrator Fred Russell's hard drive.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office asked the GBI to investigate the issue, after Commissioner Marion Williams asked commissioners to look into it.

GBI officials said it conducted a preliminary review and found no evidence the law had been violated.

The GBI said its investigation is over.
