Fundraising competition for blood cancer research kicks off Thursday

AUGUSTA, GA (WRDW) - The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Georgia Chapter is kicking off their 10-week fundraising campaign today.

Augusta's Third Annual Man & Woman of the Year campaign kicks off today at the Enterprise Mill Event Center from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

During this year's campaign, communities across the country will compete in a 10-week fundraiser to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Man & Woman of the Year" title by raising funds for blood cancer research.

This year's fundraising competition includes 11 people from the CSRA, who as a team, have the goal to raise $250,000.

The campaign will end with the Grand Finale Gala on Friday, May 30th at the Legends Club.
