RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW)- A former Columbia County code enforcement officer was tased while being arrested on Oct. 20 after an incident at a nightclub on Peach Orchard Road.
The incident report says a deputy asked 52-year-old Jimmy Vowell to leave the nightclub after an argument with the bar's owner, and he wouldn't.
It says a second deputy then told Vowell he was going to jail and to put his hands on the patrol car. Vowell wouldn't listen and shoved the deputy's arm. The deputy then tased him in the chest area until he went to the ground.
The report says when deputies searched Vowell they found a handgun, and the bar owner told them guns are not allowed in the building.
Vowell faces obstruction of a law enforcement officer and carrying deadly weapons in an unauthorized location charges.
