AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A former supervisor for the Division of Family and Children Services entered a guilty plea to family violence/battery on Thursday.
The Clerk of Court's Office says 34-year-old Sharonika Wimberly was sentenced to 12 months of probation and a $500 fine.
Wimberly allegedly beat her daughter with a broomstick for going over her cellphone minutes on Nov. 12.
Teachers at Richmond Academy reported seeing bruises on the 15-year-old's body. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.
