AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A former Augusta tax preparer was sentenced last week for her involvement in filing fraudulent tax returns.
Paula M. Pendleton, 52, was sentenced to over three years in prison.
The court claims Pendleton collected names, dates of birth and Social Security numbers to file false income tax returns.
Investigators say she also taught others to prepare false income tax returns. Kisha Kuwanda McCladdie and Linda Perkins Ziegler, who allegedly learned from Pendleton, were sentenced in 2011.
Pendleton has been ordered to pay restitution and will undergo three years of supervision after her release.
