Forecasters confirm Sunday tornado near Anderson

CENTERVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in Anderson County.

Forecasters say Sunday's twister likely had winds around 100 mph and damaged two structures and a number of trees.

The weather service reported sporadic damage over the tornado's 4.5-mile path.

The tornado touched down in Centerville around 4:30 p.m.

Strong to severe storms also caused flooding Sunday in Aiken County and along the coast Monday.
