ATLANTA, GA (WRDW) -- The Georgia Department of Public Health, DPH, is confirming the first flu-related deaths in the state.

They say two adults died.

DPH says flu levels in Georgia are still considered minimal, but there are increases in flu activity statewide.

Symptoms of the flu include cough, runny nose, sore throat and fever.

DPH says peak flu season is usually the end of January through late February or early March.
