Update: Mobile home in Aiken County destroyed after fire

JACKSON, SC (WRDW) -- The Jackson fire chief confirms the mobile home on Ruby Street in Jackson was occupied when the fire began.

Crystal Mayo, a 1-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy moved in less than a month ago.

The chief confirms the family lost everything in the fire. Crews were called to the scene around 11:30 p.m.

Crews say the gas meter was on fire and they let it burn until SCE&G shut it off.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
