Deputy Brian McDuffie, Christian Gandy and Jason Payne were investigated after Kenya James Mother of 15-year-old Kyvan James filed a formal compliant. Ms. James says the deputies used excessive force on her son after he ran out of fear.
We just learned fired Deputy Brian McDuffie was suspended in 2002 for three days, when he worked as a deputy jailer in Waynesboro,GA.
News 12 obtained documents that show McDuffie was written up for abusive language, conduct unbecoming of an officer, abuse of sick leave, abusive language and being late to work.
Deputy Payne's file was pretty clean. Deputy Christian Gandy had an almost empty file as well. However, Gandy was given an award this past June after saving someone's life.
The award was given because he stopped someone from bleeding to death after a car crash. Ms. James still plans to file a formal complaint with the department of justice.
