Fire rekindles after Aiken Co. neighbors extinguished flames with garden hose

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. -- Crews battled a fire on Ridge Road on Friday afternoon.

The call came in around noon and took 10 to 15 minutes to get under control.

The home was abandoned, so no one was inside.

Investigators say it is not suspicious and that neighbors told them lightning struck the home Thursday night.

Neighbors used a garden hose to put the fire out Thursday night, but the fire rekindled Friday morning.
