AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. -- Investigators are ruling a fire that happened late Sunday night on Old Chalk Bed Road as suspicious.
The initial investigation shows the fire started on the porch around 10:30 p.m.
It took crews several hours to put out the fire because they had to bring water in.
Firefighters say the home is a total loss.

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. -- News 12 has learned that two families made it out safely after the two-story wooden home they shared caught fire Sunday night.
Fire crews received a call to the 200 block of Old Chalk Bed Road around 10:30 p.m.
Both families made it out of the home safely before fire crews arrived.
The majority of the home was engulfed in flames by the time fire crews arrived. They say the home is a total loss.
Two family dogs died in the fire.
There is no word on the cause of the fire at this time.
