THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW) -- Five people were sent to the hospital late Sunday night after a car drove into a Huddle House restaurant.
It happened at the Huddle House on the 100 block of Hendricks Street.
The owner says the five were sent to McDuffie County Hospital for minor injuries.
He says the female driver was in the parking lot and punched the accelerator instead of the brakes, slamming into the building. The owner says at least seven people were in the building at the time of the crash.
The McDuffie Fire Department says the woman went about 6 or 7 feet inside the building.
The restaurant's owner says a state patrolman will be staying at the site throughout the night. He says the restaurant should be up and running within the next couple of days.
