Federal indictment unsealed in Jones Creek immigration case

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. -- A federal indictment has been unsealed for a high profile immigration case in the Jones Creek neighborhood in Evans.

Hugo Diaz Dela Fuente and Blanca Diaz are charged with harboring illegal immigrants. Hugo is also facing 10 counts of money laundering.

They face a maximum 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The couple was arrested Friday evening at their $1.7 million home on Grace Avenue in Jones Creek.

Eight people were arrested.

FBI agents, Columbia County Sheriff's deputies and the IRS and Immigration officials handled the raid.
