NORTH AUGUSTA S.C. (WRDW)--News 12 has learned a local ATF task force (the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) is working an investigation early this morning.
ATF task force is investigating an incident at the Waffle House on Martintown Road.
Lt. Tim Thorton with the North Augusta Public Safety says their department assisted ATF in a traffic stop of a potential suspect.
He says the suspect has been taken into custody.
The Richmond County Sheriff's Office bomb squad was also at the scene in regards to a suspicious vehicle. However, the bomb squad determined the suspicious vehicle and surrounding area were safe. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office had no further involvement.
We do not know why someone was arrested but News 12 does have a call into ATF to find out more information.
