AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A man was arrested on Sunday after allegedly leaving his 1-year-old inside a car for 30 minutes.

Deputies say 20-year-old Jonathan Tyler Jones left his daughter in the parking lot while he was inside the Gamestop on Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway.

A witness called law enforcement after noticing the child had been left inside the car for a long period of time.

Jones told deputies that he had only been inside the store for a moment, but after deputies reviewed surveillance footage from the store, they say that he was inside for 30 minutes.

Jones was taken to the Richmond County Jail and is facing charges for deprivation of a minor.

The Division of Family and Children Services was notified, and the child was turned over to her mother.
