SALLEY, S.C. (WRDW) -- A Salley man is charged with setting his house on fire on Christmas Eve, Salley Police Chief J.D. Bledsoe said.

Tony Thompson, Jr. was charged with arson in the third degree on Tuesday, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office website said.

Tony Thompson said in December that he and his three young children weren't home at the time of the fire.

"I was at my mom's house putting together one of my youngest daughter's gifts and happened to get the phone call that the house was on fire," Thompson said in December.
