AIKEN, S.C. -- The South Carolina Highway Patrol has identified the man who died in an accident on Wagener Road around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton has identified the deceased as 28-year-old Jesse James Ryan of Clarks Hill, S.C.
Ryan was traveling east on Wagener Road in Aiken County. Further investigation shows Ryan left the right side of the road, over-corrected the truck, crossed the westbound lane and overturned the vehicle.
Ryan and the passenger, 28-year-old Aaron Baugh III of Modo, S.C., were ejected.
Baugh was taken to the hospital and is said to be in serious condition.
We're told neither of the men were wearing seat belts.
The crash was called in by another motorist that came upon the scene.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
Toxicology is pending on Ryan.
