AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The head coach of cross country and track and field at Paine College was arrested in Greene County for possession of marijuana, Cpt. Ron Thurmond said.

Marquita Carter-Davis was arrested for possession of marijuana, less than an ounce and a tint violation. She was hired as the head coach in 2013 at Paine College.

In the past year, Paine College's Vice President was arrested in Richmond County for DUI, there were school shootings that brought national attention to the college along with accreditation issues.

A News 12 investigation reveals the school could be paying out even more after settling a lawsuit with the student raped in a dorm bathroom.
