Driver taken to the hospital after crash on Wheeless Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Richmond County deputies are investigating the cause of an early morning wreck.
It happened around 3:45 a.m. on Wheeless Road off Deans Bridge Road.
Deputies say the male driver fell asleep at the wheel of his car before crashing into a fence in front of a home.
He was then taken to the hospital. There is no word on his condition.
