AUGUSTA, Ga. -- News 12 has learned about a single-vehicle accident on Berckmans Road near Wheeler Road.
It happened around 12:30 a.m. when the driver was traveling northbound on Berckmans Road.
The driver says he fell asleep when his car dropped across a ditch and hit a tree. The driver was the only person in the car.
Crews had to cut the driver out of the car. He is suffering from minor facial injuries and was taken to the hospital.
