Drive-by shooting suspect in court without a lawyer

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) - The 17-year-old accused of shooting another teen made his first court appearance today.

Brandon Hilton was indicted this morning. He was formally charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct, criminal damage to property 1st degree, criminal damage property 2nd degree, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Deputies say Hilton is responsible for shooting a 14-year-old boy in the abdomen outside of the Jimmy John's on Agerton Lane.

The victim was transported to GRU with non-life threatening injuries. He remains stable.

Hilton appeared without a lawyer. The judge told him, he would be able to hire one when his bond hearing was set.
