AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- After a Thursday night vote, there could be some major changes on the way for the leaders of several Richmond County schools. One board member said these changes come from outgoing Superintendent Dr. Frank Roberson.

We're told the handful of changes involve "personnel." The future of the Laney High School principal could be discussed at Thursday's meeting as well. There is an ongoing investigation involving Tonia Mason and certain educational funds, according to a school leader.

It's been less than a week since the Richmond County School Board voted not to renew Superintendent Frank Roberson's contract. Roberson's contract ends in August.

School board member Venus Cain tells News12 Dr. Roberson is recommending the changes. Dr. Carol Rountree tells News12 Mason could be demoted and asked to pay back money. Any recommendations would need a majority approval by the school board.

At the end of last year, we reported Dr. Roberson was investigating Mason for claims of belittling teachers and trying to force them to join the Richmond County Teachers Union. School Board Member Frank Dolan tells News 12 there is an ongoing investigation but did not release anymore information.
