RICHMOND COUNTY (WRDW) -- A big change is coming to Augusta's jail for young offenders.

The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice confirms Cedric Taylor has resigned as Director of Augusta's Youth Development Campus. It's a job he's held since January 2013.

Taylor's last day on the job will be January 31, 2014. The DJJ says he's leaving to take a job with the Georgia Department of Corrections.

DJJ Commissioner Avery Niles says he will start rotating upper level management through Augusta's YDC to make sure operational needs are met from day to day, until a replacement can be found.
