Deputies say they arrested 8 suspects after drug bust at an Augusta motel

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW)- The Richmond County Sheriff's Office arrested eight suspects after an alleged drug bust in an Augusta motel room Monday.

An incident report says deputies responded to the Travel Lodge on Washington Road regarding a counterfeit suspect. It says deputies saw the man fitting the suspect's description go into a room there, and when they knocked on the door, they noticed the drugs.

Deputies said they found methamphetamine and marijuana in the room. The report also says while deputies were searching, they found two suspects flushing what appeared to be marijuana down the toilet.

Deputies arrested eight suspects, 38-year-old Demetrius Foy, 33-year-old Steven Holley, 41-year-old Troy Tjovaras, 29-year-old Rebecca Staples, 34-year-old Tina Herman, 30-year-old Brittany Turner, 33-year-old Stephen Watkins and 37-year-old William Faircloth. They are facing possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana charges.
