RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW)-A man has been arrested after trying to escape from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office interview room, deputies said.

Deputies said they were questioning Tony Maurice Walker Jr. about a burglary on Rosier Road Tuesday. When an investigator left the room, deputies say Walker removed the zipper from his pants to try to pick the lock on his leg irons. They also say he broke a metal bar in the interview room.

Walker is charged with burglary, escape and interference with government property.
