AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County deputies arrested a man they are calling "armed and extremely dangerous."
Bobby Earl Haynes, 54, was arrested without incident for armed robbery and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
The Sheriff's Office says Saturday afternoon Haynes entered the AutoZone on Deans Bridge Road with a gun and demanded money from the clerk.
A release says the deputy outside confronted Haynes. That's when shots broke out. The release says Haynes shot once at the deputy, and the deputy returned fire before Haynes ran off.
No one was injured in the incident.
Haynes faces an armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and aggravated assault charges on a police officer charges for the incident.
He also faces a robbery by force charge for the accused robbery of the Family Dollar on Deans Bridge Road on Monday.
