WAGENER, S.C. (WRDW) -- The Aiken County Sheriff's Office arrested a suspect in the late night murder on Jeffcoat Road near Wagener.

Ricordo Levon Williams, 31, is being held at the Aiken County Detention Center.

Deputies arrived to the scene of the shooting at 9:48 p.m. on Thursday.

A witness told deputies she and her friend, the victim 25-year-old Kerry Eck, were at that location meeting with Williams.

Williams and Eck where involved in a physical altercation and Williams shot her in the head.

The witness fled the area until she could call police.

Eck's body was found in an abandon vehicle near the intersection of SC Hwy 39 and Camp Rawls Road, according to the Sheriff's Office.

It is believed the possible motive in this case stems from the sell and possession of illegal narcotics, according to the Sheriff's Office.
