AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Richmond County deputies are charging two men with a pair of armed robberies.
Twenty eight-year-old Christopher Oexner and 44-year-old Robert Cave are accused of holding up a fast food restaurant and a convenience store, investigators said.
The Sheriff's Office says the first robbery happened Saturday at 11:30 p.m. at the Burger King on Wrightsboro Road, across from Augusta Mall. Oexner and Cave placed a drive thru order and when they got to the window they demanded money, workers said. The employee closed the drive thru window and a manager called the Sheriff's Office.
The second hold up happened about 30 minutes later at the Circle K store on Furys Ferry Road. Investigators say Oexner went into the store, asked for cigarettes and then demanded money. He ran from the store to a pick up truck, where Cave was waiting, deputies said.
Deputies spotted the getaway truck about 30 minutes after the second robbery and arrested the two men. Investigators are charging both men with robbery by intimidation. Cave is also being charged with DUI.
