KEYSVILLE, Ga.--An early morning shooting on Thursday leaves one person in the hospital.
It happened outside the L & G Lounge in Keysville when deputies say a fight spilled out into the parking lot and several shots were fired.
One bullet hit a 20 year old woman in the arm while she was sitting in a car, and another shot went through the window of a house next door.
Now, neighbors are afraid for their safety, and they say the club needs to be shut down.
"We were awakened this morning with a lot of shooting, and then we heard it when it came through the house," said Marvin Scott who lives next door.
It was a frightening wake up call as the Scott family woke up to find a bullet hole through their window. It went through two walls and ended up in their computer room.
"As much as my wife gets up and scatters through here at night, she's lucky she didn't get killed. So we just want safety," said Scott.
The Scott's are used to a quiet lifestyle. The building next door used to be a grocery store before it closed down. Now, it's been converted into the L & G Lounge, and the Scott's don't feel safe in their own home. Unfortunately, this shooting isn't an isolated incident.
"Back 8 months or so ago, a boy got shot in the stomach, a girl got shot last night, and we had some car accidents, windows being shot into and stuff," he said.
Marvin Scott has lived in his home on Cheatham Rd. his whole life, but with the club across the street, he's afraid for his life.
"I don't want to just hop up and move because of danger, but you want to be able to sleep at night...We would like to see it closed completely down before someone gets killed, especially if you're asleep. You don't want to get killed in your sleep. " Scott said.
Sheriff Coursey in Burke County says he's spoken with Scott, and he plans to urge city council to pull the club's license.
The City Administrator was not aware of the shooting, but in the past, said the club owner has argued the shootings have all been outside of the club.
