Update: Dean transferred to evaluation center with Department of Corrections
Former county commissioner Anthony Scott Dean is in evaluation center in Savannah. He will then be transferred to his permanent assignment.

COLUMBIA CTY., Ga. -- Former Columbia County Commissioner Anthony Scott Dean has been transferred to the custody of the Georgia Department of Corrections.
Dean was released to their custody yesterday morning for transfer to the Coastal State Prison in Savannah. This is only an evaluation center. Dean will be transferred to his permanent assignment after his diagnostic stay at the Coastal State Prison.
Dean was convicted on two counts of child molestation and sentenced to 20 years in prison followed by 20 years of probation.
