AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Yet another employee has been suspended from the Augusta Youth Development Campus.

The Department of Juvenile Justice sent out a release on Friday evening saying Lt. Damian Wise had been suspended with pay from the YDC due to allegations of employee misconduct.

The allegations stem from when DJJ officials and Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents came for a surprise visit last Tuesday.

According to the DJJ, 27 Georgia facilities have undergone inspections within the past seven weeks.

Other facilities from throughout the state have seen employee misconduct problems as well. Juvenile Corrections Officer Ardith Brown was fired from the Gainesville RYDC on Thursday after "allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a resident." An employee at the RYDC facility in Columbus, Ga., Juvenile Corrections Officer Mike Brown, was fired "for alleged improper use of physical intervention techniques" on Jan. 26.

Commissioner Buckner says to expect even more firings and suspensions from Georgia facilities as the investigation continues.

The statewide investigation into juvenile facilities started in November after a 19-year-old inmate at the Augusta YDC was fatally assaulted.

After Holder's death, News 12 looked into a possible coverup into extenuating circumstances of the murder, which launched an investigation by the DJJ. To date, 11 people have been fired, including the director and the captain of security, two employees have been demoted and two others have resigned.
