AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control said the water in Langley Pond is safe for recreational use.

DHEC sampled the water to test for contamination caused from pollution along Horse Creek.

The agency said the sampling results found the water in Langley Pond is safe for recreation. It is still warning people not to eat the fish though.

DHEC will hold a public meeting to discuss the results at Aiken Technical College on Jefferson Davis Highway in Graniteville.

It will be Thursday Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.
