AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The suspect in an alleged teacher-student relationship confessed to school officials, the district attorney said. She later said the confession was made under duress, but the district attorney said police were not present when the confession was made.

Another teacher in Burke County found out about the inappropriate relationship after a different student received a text from the victim, the district attorney said. Although, the 16-year-old victim later said he lied in the text to try to find out who was spreading a rumor, the DA said.

The suspect, Ashley Ashe, said oral sex was performed by each of them once and the pair kissed on campus before school hours.

Ashe is a married 2006 graduate from Augusta Christian and was terminated from the Burke County School System on Monday, Ashe's attorney said.

Ashe's bond was set at $20,000 and was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
