UPDATE: Boil water advisory lifted after water main break in Aiken

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- The City of Aiken has lifted the boil water advisory that was issued on Tuesday after a water main break.

The water main break closed part of Vaucluse Road for most of the day.

Update:

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- The City of Aiken has issued a boil water advisory after a water main break on Tuesday.

Residents in the following areas are asked to boil their water for the next 24 hours (until 4 p.m. Wednesday):

  • Vaucluse Road between Church Street and Richland Avenue
  • Linden Street between Vaucluse Road and Richland Avenue
  • Richland Avenue between Lancaster Street and Vaucluse Road
  • Church Street between Vaucluse Road and Edgefield Avenue

The water main break happened on Vaucluse Road between Linden and Catawba streets. The road reopened Tuesday night after being closed for most of the day for repairs.

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- Residents of the City of Aiken will see a disruption in water service until crews can repair a water main break.

Vaucluse Road is closed from Linden Street to Catawba Street as crews work on repairs.

Officials are asking drivers to avoid the area.
