AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Coroner Grover Tuten has identified the man who died in a house fire on Meadowgrove Drive Monday.
Saxon Washington, 42, died from smoke and soot inhalation around 3:12 a.m. on Monday.
Washington was in the home with his three children when the fire started. All three children were able to get out. One child was sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Investigators say a man is dead and one of his children is hospitalized after a structure fire on Meadowgrove Drive in Augusta.
There were four people in the house, a father and three children. The father has been declared dead. One child is in the hospital for smoke inhalation, but the other two were not injured.
The flames broke out just before 3 a.m. Monday.
Investigators say the fire started in the kitchen, and the damage is mainly smoke related. Right now it looks like an accident, but a cause has not been determined.
