AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Fire crews were on the scene of a fire at a Mexican restaurant early Thursday morning.
Flames sparked at Teresa's Mexican Restaurant on Walton Way around 1:45 a.m.
Firefighters say someone in the area smelled smoke and noticed it coming out of Teresa's Mexican Restaurant. That person called for fire crews.
Most of the flames were in the attic and toward the back of the restaurant. Fire crews were able to contain them but continued to fight hot spots for hours.
The fire started in the second-floor attic area, directly over the kitchen, but everything is severely burned and they haven't been able to determine the cause yet.
No one was inside the restaurant or injured in the fire.
