NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW) -- Officials say 17-year-old James Lawson Moss was the driver in an accident in North Augusta Saturday afternoon.
Two of the three people involved in the wreck on Edgefield Road were taken to the hospital.
Public Safety officers say the wreck happened as Moss was driving a pickup truck northbound.
The two other passengers were wearing seat belts, and officers say it saved their lives.
Officers say Moss was conscious when they freed him but was unable to talk.
Investigators say speed was a factor in the incident, and Moss has been charged with careless driving.
