AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Cherry Tree Crossing was the perfect setting for firefighter training this morning.

A team of Augusta Fire Department firefighters performed training maneuvers as a training exercise this morning. Crews took part in drills for forced entry, horizontal ventilation and vertical ventilation while other members used the hose to water down the house. The Augusta Fire Department partnered with the Augusta Housing Authority for the training.

"This is a great opportunity for everybody without the pressure of the place being on fire," Captain Mel LaPan of the Augusta Fire Department said.
