AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) - A mechanical failure causes a crane service truck to roll over killing the passenger, The Richmond County Sheriff's Office said.

Jordan Riddle, 28, was the passenger as he and the driver were headed north on Skyview Drive at 7:30 a.m., the Sheriff's Office said, The driver attempted to make a left turn onto New Savannah Road, however a mechanical failure caused the truck to roll over, the Sheriff's Office said.

Riddle was pinned under the truck and was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver got out okay, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office said.

The intersection of New Savannah Road and Skyview Drive will be closed for a few hours while officers investigate the accident.
