RICHMOND CO., Ga. (WRDW) - New information today on the allegations against Richmond County Coroner Grover Tuten.
News 12 obtained a search warrant affidavit that brings to light new allegations.
According to the search warrant filed by the FBI, a confidential informant led investigators to Tuten. During their investigation, the FBI says they uncovered evidence that links him to misappropriating county funds.
The warrant also says Tuten was receiving county payments into a bank account that he used for personal purchases.
Tuten was granted $3,000 bond earlier this month. He is accused of theft by taking of a motor vehicle. The DA said that he stole Walter Thurston's 2004 Nissan Altima after Thurston died in April 2011.
