WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) says the House Committee on Veterans Affairs Chairman Jeff Miller (R-FLA) will conduct a congressional oversight visit to the Charlie Norwood VA in Augusta on Jan. 6, 2014.

“There’s no question that someone dropped the ball at the Charlie Norwood VA when it came to providing the best care for our nation’s veterans,” said Congressman Barrow. “We need to get to the bottom of what went wrong so we can prevent it in the future – we owe that to our service men and women. I’m looking forward to welcoming Chairman Miller to Augusta, and I hope that this visit provides the answers we need.”

Earlier this month, Congressman Barrow formally requested the House Veterans Affairs Committee investigate reports of a delay in care at the Charlie Norwood VA that led to the deaths of at least three veterans. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion.
