CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson University is telling its students to watch out for a 23-year-old man who they say made threats to kill people on a college campus.
Campus Police Chief Johnson Link says there wasn't any specific threat to campus, but the alert was issued Thursday out of an abundance of caution.
Oconee County Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Watt says the man mentioned in the alert is wanted for two counts of forgery and a probation violation. He says the man threatened to kill himself and others and threatened to go to a college campus and kill people there. Watt says a specific campus wasn't mentioned, so deputies sent information to several schools.
The man is described as white, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was recently seen in Seneca, about 10 miles from campus.
