RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- A suspect accused of leading multiple agencies on a chase through two counties is in custody.

The chase started in Grovetown and ended at Mike Padgett Highway and Brown Road in Richmond County early Friday morning.

Grovetown Department of Public Safety said officers noticed a vehicle that was reported stolen out of McDuffie County.

Grovetown DPS Chief Gary Owens said he believed Richmond County used spike strips on Highway 56 to stop the vehicle.

Grovetown DPS stopped the pursuit and Columbia County took over.
