AUGUSTA (WRDW) -- A charter bus fire fills the sky with smoke over the Augusta Exchange shopping center this morning.

It happened near the new Panda Express restaurant, in front of the Ulta store, just after 11 a.m.

Firefighters were able to put the flames out quickly. The Battalion Chief on duty said the fire ignited when heat from the exhaust ignited shrubbery in the parking lot.

There were no passengers on the bus. A driver on board was able to make it off without any injuries.

Horizon Motor Coach owns the bus and says it is a total loss.
