LINCOLN COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) - The simple battery charges against Coach Larry Campbell have been dropped.
Attorney Vic Hawk has confirmed to News 12 that Shaun Glass did not want to pursue charges against Campbell.
Lincoln County's former coach was originally charged with simple battery after a fight at a Board of Education meeting in May. Campbell was accused of grabbing Glass by the shirt collar after Glass criticized Campbell's son, the superintendent.
Coach Campbell announced his retirement April 25 after spending 44 years as the head coach of Lincoln County's football team. He's won 11 state titles and also serves as the athletic director. His son, Brian Campbell serves as the Superintendent of Lincoln County Schools.
