NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW) -- The charges against a former law enforcement officer have been upgraded to murder in the shooting death of her boyfriend.
News 12 has confirmed a grand jury made that decision earlier this month in 40-year-old Robin Herndon's case.
Aiken County deputies say she shot and killed Christopher Rowley after an argument in November 2013. The shooting happened on Sudlow Lake Road.
When Herndon was arrested, investigators charged her with voluntary manslaughter. She was released on bond for that charge and is not currently in the Aiken County Detention Center.
Herndon used to work for the South Carolina Department of Probation, Pardon and Parole, but was fired. The 12 On Your Side team also discovered she used to work as an agent for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
