EVANS, Ga. (WRDW) -- Columbia County deputies are investigating an accident where a vehicle ran into the side of a house in a neighborhood off Furys Ferry Rd.
Officers say the driver, Steven Michael Drawdy, was driving too fast in the neighborhood and lost control over a speed bump causing the vehicle to turn. They say the vehicle began to roll, crossed the driveway and two lawns before hitting the house on Hammonds Ferry Road.
Drawdy had four passengers, including the son of the house owner. The three in the back were all ejected. Three people were taken to the hospital. Drawdy fled the scene but was returned by his mother. He was arrested for DUI.
No one was in the home at the time. Deputies on scene believe the homeowners are out of town.
